School History
Schools in District 158 have been named after people who have had a major influence on the education of our children.
May Chesak was an educator in McHenry County for 51 years, as both teacher and administrator. She fully retired in 1984 and made her home in Woodstock. May passed away on March 22nd, 2007, at the age of 102.
Our building opened its doors in the Fall of 2000 and formerly was the largest elementary school in the District. The school now houses over 700 kindergarten, first and second grade students.
In fall 2015, the District’s Early Childhood Center moved to Chesak after formerly being located at Martin Elementary School.
